Windows Error when starting DMF

Hello... I just purchased a Pioneer DVD recorder that comes with DMF 4.0. I have installed it, and every time I try to start it, I get a Windows error. The program doesn't load at all. I have searched this forum, but haven't found and solutions yet. The error report says that the error occurred in:

AppName: dvdmf.exe
AppVer: 4.0.0.0
ModName: 3ivx.dll
ModVer: 4.5.0.12
Offset: 00043c22

I am Windows XP Professional.

I'd appreciate any suggestions... I'm anxious to be able to start using my recorder... Thanks in advance.
