Codec TrialActivation has a serious error

Post by Canaan »

I have downloaded the trial version, and when I have installed and try and run the program it gives me an error message: Codec TrialActivation has a serious error.

My system info is:
Pentium® 4 CPU 2.40GHz
2.41 GHz
512 MB of RAM

I tried downloading again from site 2 and re-installing and still get the same error message.

My event log shows nothing other than installer started and that's it. On application details it says that all were configured successfully.
I also downloaded the patch and installed, and that doesn't work either.

I tried installing the program on my laptop (which has a dvd player) and it works fine. Could the problem stem from the fact that my PC doesn't have a dvd player and if so, how can I get around this issue???

I went through the hardware devices on both pc's and the only difference I can pick up at first glance, is that the graphics driver on the pc it won't work on, is a NVIDIA Geforce 4 MX440.

Could this maybe be the problem? And is there a way I can get around it?

Please please please can someone help me???

My pc has an MX 440 and it works fine. It's even DMR compliant so i can view the timecode on avi clips in the preview screen, and get the date of recording when I mouse over clips in the video library.

I can even overclock it by around 25% to get it to work decently with video games such as "Unreal"

So I doubt it's the card!
