Recording on DVD-RAM discs

Post by Attila Balogh »

Hello All,

Which version of DVD Movie Factory is capable to record movies on DVD-RAM discs?

Thank you in advance.

I'm using Version 3 and regularly use a DVD-RAM in DVD-VR format to create my movies on. My stand-alone player is old and very temperamental, but it will play DVD-VR when prodded to do so. DVD-RAM is the only rewritable media that it will accept.

Thank you guys!

I've tried to do that with DMF 3 SE, but it said DVD-RAM not supported. The reason may the SE version? Or did I make a mistake?

Hi,

Generaly the SE (Simple Editions) come bundle with hardware and are crippled or watered-down versions. So that is probably why you can't burn to DVD-Ram..

Hi,
MF4 Retail version can write to DVD-RAM disks.
I just created a -VR ram disk.

From the launcher screen is the option Create -VR disk.
Usually I would use the DVD-Video screen.

The dvd-ram disk is formatted as packet-writing so even after you put
videos on it you can also put data or jpeg pictures on the dvd to view
in the recorder. Provided you use the correct directory structure.

Depending on your playback unit you can also add mp3 or wav files to
be played.

Hope this helps,

MD
