Strange size capturing picture

Post by han »

Look at my picture overhere:

Image

This was captured from my Xbox 360 and it is only half the height as it should be.
I did not change any of the settings, just captured the picture.
How can I get it the normal size?
When I make a movie, captured from the same source I get normal sizes...

Don't expect any meaningful responses unless you provide at least a tiny bit of information about your system setup and what you are doing...

I have a pentium IV 2.4 Ghz
ATI-All in wonder X800 VE (256mb video mem)
512 mb SDRAM PCI-3200
Motherboard: Asus P4P800
VS 9
Capturing in composite video
Saving all on a 15 gigabyte partition.

I just captured the video in PAL, YUV codec
From that captured video I just clicked on the photo-camera icon to capture a picture, resulting in that strange half-sized height. (picture in Jpeg format).
I have to say that the preview of the video was shaking a bit , about 1 millimeter up and down. Maybe it was an interlaced picture?

I hope you now have enough info to help me out :)

The All In Wonder card apparently uses "Bob" de-interlacing, which uses both odd and even frames, and it's supposed to force the aspect ratio to stay the same.

What can sometimes happen with Bob is that the aspect ratio can go to half height - which is what your image looks like.

I don't know the cause - all I do know is that it can only happen when you de-interlace an interlaced source.

Maybe there is something wrong with my ATI-settings. Where can I change Bob-settings, or isn't it possible to change that?
