Video Studio 5
I will be videoing some school Christmas plays and I want to drop clips over the top without altering camera 1 time line - ie equivalent to VCR insert editing (which I have done before).
How can I achieve this with VS5 or DVD Movie Factory 1, or do I need to reuse my old VCR?
I may also be doing total audio replacement by using a MD recorder for the sound.
Thankyou

If by wanting to "drop clips" you mean using an audio overlay, that's trivial and easily done -- UVS has two audio tracks. The first one usually contains the audio track from the video file, and the second one can be used for narrations or background music etc.
If that is not what you meant, please clarify.

mji - like THoff I am having problems understanding what you want to do - first reaction is that what you want to do is so simple and basic that I feel I must be missing something. To do "insert editing" you just put the 'inserted' video or sound in the appropriate overlay track - if necessary muting the sound on the original video - You most certainly do NOT want to use your old VCR.
