1. I have a registered copy of Media Studio Pro 6 that I have been using for a long time (although not recently) and recently downloaded the demo for ver 8. I noticed now that when I try to do a DV capture using Video Capture ver 6 or 8, I can only capture the first 10 seconds and then the capture stops. Can some tell me whats wrong? I have selected the settings not to limit the memory or disk usage. I tons of both.
2. My Media Studio Pro 6 came with Video Paint which is a God send. It is an excellent program that I ready need. I don't see it included with ver 8. Why? Is it gone? Also, why does it limit me to 900 framse or 30 seconds?
Thanks for your help.

Video Capture question and where is Video Paint?
1. Check the capture time in the dialogue box that comes up when you start capturing
2. This has been much discussed in this forum. You have a choice between using your old one with MSP8 (it works!) or buying it as an optional extra (it is no longer bundled because relatively few MSP clients use it and the price of MSP has been reduced in consequence. The latest VP and CGI are identical to the old ones except for a) cosmetic changes and b) support for HDV formats.

That said nothing stops you from working in 30 second increments, saving the settings from the end of each step in the Custom folder for use with the next.
Actaully, 30 secs isn't enough. With today's multi-hundred gig HDs and 2 and 4 gig RAM systems, 30 seconds is very, very short and too small.
I need at least 3 mins. I have a video I did with blue screen which didn't work well so I have to go in and manually paint blue where the blue screen didn't work well. The clip is about 3 mins or more long.

P.S. Let me also say regarding BLUE/GREEN screen and Video Paint, I have Adobe Premiere 6 as well as Media Studio Pro 6 and I find myself using Media Studio much more becuase it seems to handle the blue/green overlay transparency much better than Premiere and Video Paint lets me add alot of neat special effects very easily.

I agree in ease of use.
More often than not my painted scenes run only a few seconds....15-20 at most.....and not entire sequences, but I can see if you depend heavily on them why you'd want >30 sec.
Now that CGI and VP are an independent product (VideoGraphics Lab) with their own dev. budget these things will get addressed.

In the dialoguebox on top fill in the total caturetime and set cature method to 'auto'.
it works for me
