VideoStudio 8 new user and newbi

Post by mickcant »

Hi all,
I am a new user getting used to Ulead VideoStudio 8.
I am having problems removing the original sound track on video footage of super 8 cine film re captured.
Is it best to remove the sound before splitting into seans?

On trying to do this in the edit window, Options Panel and reducing the volume to 0, or by pulling the slider bar to the bottom, do I then have to run through the entire clip to set the sound at 0.

Can anyone reccomend a good step by step book please?
As you can probily guess this is my first venture into video editing.
Thanks,
Mick.

Capture Format - Impacts your ability to edit audio

If you capture in AVI type 2, the sound should appear seperately on the timeline. This allows you to edit it or delete it.

I saw a free program on uleads site to convert type 1 to type to I believe.

Mick,
you should be able to mute the sound from each individual clip or seperate the audio from the video from each clip. Either method would accomplish the same thing.
