mp3 file for plugin

Post by André Giroux »

Hi,
I'm trying to implement an mp3 file to startup at download of a web page. When using (Link Object/plug-in) the window opens showing only Files of Types: Plug-in Files [*.WAV.,*.MID]. Can anyone help me out on how to use plug-in so my mp3 files will play when webpage is downloaded. Or is there any way to manually edit HTML text in PI10 because that I know what to do for it to work.I really need this to work. :?
Thank you,
André

You won't be able to do that in PhotoImpact. The software only has limitted web authoring features because it is mainly an image editing application.

On the contrary, you can do it in PI, but be forewarned though that PI's coding is unfriendly, to say the least, to any browser other than IE. As a dedicated Firefox user, I avoid using PI to code my webpages at all cost.

Having said that, you can do what you want, at least in PIv8 you can, but you have to use the drop down arrow in the Link/Plugin/Open dialog box to see "all files". Navigate to your MP3 and insert it.

On my "test" webpage, MP3 opens with Quicktime and you get the little Quicktime plugin toolbar wherever you've inserted the plugin. If you change the position of the plugin or resize the plugin, you have to reslice your page.

Thanks for your help. Thought maybe there was a quick way of doing this but I'll take the long way around and use frontpage, at least I know how that works.
Thanks again,
André
