I have a Dell Dimension 8500 that is about 6 months old. It uses windows media and has a built in, dual tuner card for watching television. Everything has been working perfectly with the card until I installed video suite 9. As soon as I got it installed, I now have a black space at the bottom of the TV viewing window (kind of like they use when the TV station would put a crawler on it with news information) and a bunch of static lines showing up at the bottom of that black rectangle.
I uninstalled video suite 9 and then tried the tuner card again and it tells me the card does not work and I can not see anything. So I reinstalled video suite 9 and now I can see the TV again through the tuner card but with the same issues as before, the black box and the green static.
Can Video Suite 9 interract with my tuner card in some way and if so, how can I disconnect it from that? Is it trying to capture info from the card or something else? I can't see any other way to correct the problem because the card doesn't work if the program is removed now. I'm definately at a loss.
Any help would be great.
Thanks,
John

As luck would have it, I stumbled into a solution. I used this link. http://mtaulty.com/blog/(vt3vga2slfd1x5 ... /1911.aspx
And it helped me greatly. Turns out that I needed to uninstall my powerDVD program and reinstall it. That put the needed driver back in the system and it's working perfectly now.
It had nothing to do with VideoStudio 9 as far as I can tell, but you never know what conflicts might arise when installing software.
I hope this helps someone down the road.
