Need to download PI 10 ESD

Post by hap1974 »

Hi, I had PI 8, upgraded to PI 10 ESD in March on my Old computer.

I am now using a new computer, and of course there's a new version of PI out now and I cannot find anywhere to download this software now that the new version is out. I don't know if the downloaded file is even on my old hard drive, I will have to look, i don't have easy access to it right now.

I've tried to contact ulead, with no response and when I called they said they were closed...even thought according to the times listed they shouldn't have been. :?

I've been using PI 11 in the meantime, which I DO NOT like at all...and I can't even get the Smart Download to work.

I am so frustrated as I like this program MUCH better than PSP. :x

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Just like everyone else, if you purchase the software online, there should be a contact information on the confirmation email of whom you're going to contact for purchase information.

I fail to understand how this has become a Ulead problem? You bought software, downloaded it from the web site, installed it, used it, bought a new computer and now you can't download it again to install it on the new one. Why didn't you make a copy of your downloaded file for safe keeping?

ESD version download links are only active for a short while. Contact your original vendor for a new link.

The ESD version as you know already has the serial built into the program and is not user transferrable. We all have lost something at some point in time due to an oversight, misfortune or negligence. Just ask the those people in Louisiana if they had backups of their backups. Right Heinz? Why don't you try offering some insight instead of looking to thrash those people that don't post messages to your liking. He needs a quick lesson in diplomacy. His indifference to peoples problems and his abrading imprudent responses shouldn't discourage you in persisting to get back what you paid for. How often does this happen? Not often. I am sure you planned this to happen to you. If Ulead has the same attitude as Heinz has then Ulead won't be very prosperous in the upcoming future.

On a more positive note here's a gift to you:

You can download the TBYB Version of PhotoImpact 10 directly from Ulead's FTP Site by clicking this link: Ulead PhotoImpact 10 TBYB. Merry Christmas

I gave the only sensible advice there is, contact the vendor of your original copy of PI 10.

Don't know what other inside I could offer.

If you don't like the advice, fine, but please refrain from personal attacks. I for one fail to see how the advice to download a trial version would help this person. This trial is going to stop working in 30 days.

Oh Heinz, how narrow-minded you have become. Quick question: How many programs open UFO files and transpose them into other formats? How many? Is it one? Would that be PhotoImpact? I can't offer yours, mine or anyone other purchased version. That would violate the EULA that we have all agreed to and would constitute a viable reason to discontinue support or even litigation. So Heinz, I offered the trial version as an alternative so that he could open any UFO files he has created on his computer and convert them into a more universal format. That way he could still continue to work with those files with other programs until he resolves his issue with Ulead or whomever else he purchased it from. I purchased mine directly from Ulead so I don't think anyone else would consider my inquiry if I needed to retain another copy.

I would like to state something here Heinz. If you can't be a little more pleasant and refrain from belittling and patronizing these people who are only looking for an alternative support method then there is no point for you to be part of this forum. By doing so only defeats the purpose we all have come here for ...... resolve without egoism ........ however mundane the problem is.

I have the same problem. Is there anyway to download PI 10. I can't contact ULead/Corel (it seems) and I can't see a place to download PI 10. I have a serial number.

There is no need to keep posting the same question in several threads.
The answer has already been given.

I see no answer in that thread. As I have noted elsewhere.

I am attempting to communicate with others in this thread.

You might try contacting Nova Development Corporation. They sell older versions of PhotoImpact and it might be possible to purchase PI 10 from them. You can find them here: http://www.novadevelopment.com/

You might also try Ebay. I see that currently there is a PI-10 and a couple of PI-XL for sale. I know that you don't want to purchase it again but that may be your only option. Of course, if you could access your old PC long enough to burn it to a CD then your problem is solved.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help

PS... Yeah Heinz can be a bit abrupt. But, on the other hand, he does have nice hair. LOL

Thank you very much Twicewise.

I see that pI11 is available at about 58 dollars on yahoo acutions Japan.

If I have to purcahse again I may simply get the latestest version (or the recommend version, perhaps p12) but I am still hoping that there might be a download available somewhere.

Is it possible that, even if a download were available, it would not work with my serial number since the download and serial number form a matching pair?

I am able to access my old PC but I can't find the installation file (I think that I may have deleted it, saving only the newer XL version that I tried and did not like). I still have access to the installed "Program Files." I can still use that old computer but I don't.

Does anyone know what the downloaded file was called?

Esteemed board frequenters Mr. Heinz and Mr. Jones (I believe) do seem to have nice hair and a certain characteristic mode of communication. I am jealous of their hair.

PS I don't seem to recieve notifications from this board

I think that's right. The download would have to match your serial number. I have been in the same boat a couple of times, wishing that I could download an older version of a product that was no longer available.

I did find this on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Ulead-Systems-Pho ... 176&sr=8-5

You better jump on it quick because there's only one.

PhotoImpact X3 has now been released, you will only need your serial number from your earlier version to be able to use the upgrade version.

Please allow me to correct you Steve. You cannot generalize like "earlier versions" can be upgraded because it is, unintentional I'm sure, but never the less misleading. Only PI 10 and up can upgrade to PI X3. Please see http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/ ... 6741471804

Earlier versions do not qualify for an upgrade.
