Can't Import DVD (Disney) and Jerky/Hesitant Playback

Post by madcadman »

I have two issues.

The first is that when I import clips from DVD's and begin to edit them the playback is very jerky. I have not been able to find a setting that will fix this. Does anyone have any suggestions.

Secondly, I am able to import DVD clip from movies like The Fast and the Furious, and War of the Worlds. But when I put a Disney movie in (The Rookie), and I go to capture a scene the computer program locks up and I have to completely shut down and restart.

I run a program called DVD Region+CSS that is supposed to unlock all DVD's and CD's and such so that they can be watched and copies and edited.

I am very new to this progam and before I buy it I have to know that it is going to do the things that I will be using it for most and that will to capture clips from DVD movies.

So does anyone have any idea what is going on here.

Thanks for all the future input.

Without addressing the CSS cracking issues...

Recently, I had a "problem DVD". (I was having slightly different problems, but I couldn't get an MPEG that would work with any Ulead programs.) After downloading several trial programs, I had success with SUPER (FREE!!!). It can convert a .VOB file to an MPEG-2 file acceptable to Ulead's programs.

I didn't like SUPER's audio options (I think it uses a poor quality, unlicensed AC3 encoder). So, I used VOBedit (FREE!!!) to extract the (LPCM) audio to a wave file. I think VOBedit can combine the VOBs together into one big VOB, which can be handy too.
