Re: Sticky Labels???
Sorry if I was unclear. Yes, the adhesive CD Stomper labels seem to have been the problem.

That's strange that they wouldn't play at all -- usually the sticky labels will cause problems with playback (jerky and stuttering playback), but at least the dvd player will recognize the dvd and try to play it back. It sounded like the other fire stations couldn't even read the disc?

Okay, so I'm learning as I go along. Looks like bitsetting has something to do with why burned dvds may or may not play on stand alone units.

DVD replay
I have the similar problem as discussed under thos post. My burnt DVD project plays on the PC but not the domestic DVD player. My DVD Player isn't completely identified in DVD Player list (www.videohelp.com) referred to in earlier posts. It is a Philip DVD625K and the only one on the list is a Philips DVD625. All the same it lists DVD+RW as one of the formats supported. (I assume that is what it being in bold means.) I downloaded BitSetter and went to do the bit-setting to DVD-ROM but when I selected Check Settings in DVD BitSetter it said it couldn't read the drives because it was either a Sony drive or first generation drive. The Drive is a LG DVD Drive about 12 months old and the Philips DVD 625K player is about 12 months old.
I have imported the Ulead DVD MF 3 Update pack and Burning Engine.
What is the absolute base format that most DVD players recognise since I am not going to buy a new player or burner.
I did get it working on software other than Ulead MF. That is I burnt the project on DVD+RW played back on the Philips DVD625K. So is this just a Ulead problem?

As I know, Philips players will be more picky about disc media. Some Philips DVD players of my friends only accept DVD-ROM for DVD media.
BitSetting feature is not in LG burners I think. You will need to use a Lite-On/Sony/BenQ burner and download the bitsetting tool from their websites for the feature.
