Running XP Home.
Installed Version 8.5 as part of the software package that came with a Pioneer drive. The first thing that happened after I finished the install was that I found that Photo Explorer 8.5 had hijacked all of my photo file formats, at least the ones I can find including JPEG and Tiff.
I found the associate list and all were unchecked. I later checked them all, quit, reopened the program and unchecked all. All my pictures still open with Photo Explorer.
I know I can go in for each type when I encounter them and do an "Always Open With" but I want to keep Photo Explorer from open any of them. Please help.

Actually the method you mention is the easiest way. An alternative but slightly more complex way is heremarc43 wrote:Running XP Home.

Would like a better solution
Thanks for the answer about doing an "Open With" in XP. There must be a global way of un-associating my files from this program. I would think that by leaving the Associate boxes blank this wouldn't be necessary.
Alternatively, if I use Photshop LE to do basic photo editing, what would I be missing if I deleted just this one program. Will it also affect other functions such as working with music and data CDs and DVDs? I can see this program separately in "Add/Remove Programs".
By the way, I can't contact support as there is no way to register the program as it has no serial number becasue it came with my Pioneer drive.

You can remove PhotoExplorer in Add/Remove Programs directly, it should not effect other features in Ulead DVD MovieFactory such as CD and DVD burning.marc43 wrote:Alternatively, if I use Photshop LE to do basic photo editing, what would I be missing if I deleted just this one program. Hope this helps.
