Ulead CD & DVD PicturShow v3.0 Impossible to use.

I have had difficulties as noted on a previous post. I attempted to get some help from customer service to no avail. What customer service or should I say Rodel Villasenor suggests is to

1. Delete all files on your C:\Windows\Temp directory.
> > 2. Make sure that you have enough drive space for your program
> files. Remove unnecessary files and programs to free up some
hard
> disk space.
> > 3. Remove unnecessary files and programs to increase free

> antivirus, norton utilities, screensaver, other memory resident
> programs including Internet connection, etc. to avoid
unnecessary
> conflict and restrictions within your system while using the
> software.

hardware
> devices (including printers, scanners, etc) are properly
> connected. Also, make sure that drivers are installed and
> compliant to your OS.

First note that none of these things worked. Second is if they did work should I do this each and every time that I want to create a project with this buggy software. How stable is a software which requires such a stringent setup to even get started with.

In other words, if you want PS3 to work, you should have absolutely clean install on your PC, without any virus protection, network- or internet connection, without anything but Windows platform and PS3. Does it work then, has anyone tried?

Yes, I have tried an absolute clean install of Windows on a fast machine, with nothing else running - it doesn't work. I have also tried Win XP & Win2K

Some people seem to think it does work a little & I have had it working on very small projects (about 40Mb). Perhaps it's based on photo types or something. Either way, it doesn't do what it claims to do.

Don't waste your time.

But, don't give up either. Version 2 was good & is still available in a few Shops & on Amazon. Buying that will restore your faith in Ulead, then just wait around for the next patch for version 3

Use AVICodec to see what audio/video CODECs are installed in your system. As I know some A/V CODECs will make Ulead products to be unstable.

Some of them are:

* 3ivX [version D4 4.5.1] [Encoding] (conflict with Ulead GIF Animator 5 and some other Ulead products)

* MPEG-2 decoder [Elecard demultiplexor / Ligos decoder] (conflict with Windows Media Player 9)

* .OGM.dll (conflict with Media Player)

* Morgan Multinedia Stream Switcher (conflict with Media Player)

Also make sure you have applied the latest updates and patches of DVDPS.

And I just get the information that some MSN Messanger plug-in might also have the issue, it's "MSN Shell".

Hope this helps.

I want to add since my last post above.

I have downloaded installed ArcSofts DVD Slide Show

So far I have already burned 50% of the process and its going strong

this is a good product

My suggestion get your money back try Arcsoft DVD Slide Show

It has more templates, more features and is far easier to use and most of all
