PI11 Color Replacement Pen

Post by cjmcymru »

I recently upgraded from PI10 to PI11 and have had some of the same problems experienced in this forum (e.g. the letters e, n , s not appearing unless I reload the workspace). I understand from Ulead Support that several of these are known bugs, so hopefully there will be a patch soon.

However, has anyone else had problems with the Color Replacement Pen tool? In PI10 you could change the soft edge value, even setting it to zero to achieve a hard edge. This facility appears to have vanished in PI11, forcing you to always have a set, undefined soft edge. As a website designer, I have always used this tool extensively to change colours in graphics to match whatever colour scheme I'm using, but being forced to have a soft edge renders the tool almost useless, as the tool won't then replace the modified colour on the soft edge without you constantly adjusting the colour you want to replace. I now have to go back and use PI10 if I want to use the Color Replacement tool. I have been talking to Ulead Support via e-mail, but they have not been very helpful, saying this morning that the Color Replacement tool 'does not actually have a soft edge'. Does anyone know whether it is possible to set the soft edge value on this tool?
