What to do error 4570: failed to reuse converted cache files

Post by konnan »

I get the above error when either trying to burn a DVD or output a disk image. I already tried the updates. Is there anything I can do?

Hi Konnan,

I'm not sure what the error code is, however I have seen this on occassion, and I just read into the error message that it had something to do with the cache. So I went to the Temp folder and deleted everything in it. That seemed to work.

So you might try this..(You must be able to see Hidden Files and Folders)

1. Go to Documents and Settings.
2. Click on whatever "Username" you're using.
3. You should now see the folder "Local Settings". If not do this:
Go to Tools>Folder Options. Then click on File Types. Now you should see an option to Show Hidden Files and Folders Make sure the radio button beside it is ticked.
4. Now you should be able to see the Local Settings Folder. Open it up and then Open the Temp folder.
5. Select All by either CTL + A on your keyboard. Delete everything inside the folder.

Then see if that helps...

The clue in the following link is that the disks you are burning to are at fault

error (4570) failure to reuse converted cache files

I'm very disapointed in ULead for their attrocious support of their flagship product DVD MF. I am a senior software engineer and it is very obvious this is a bug ULead is well aware of. If you look at the Video Studio forum you will see information on how to work around this problem in that application.

Most likely this is due to an uninitialized section of code in the software. It is also likely this subsystem is shared by several ULean apps like MF and VS, probably in a DLL. As with VS, there may be a workaround for this bug in MF.

The ludicrous thing is posting such a workaround procedure here would reduce the impact on their customer support staff and improve customer satisfaction. But such behavours are sadly typical of corporations. Common sense just seems to be systematiically destroyed in the people they employ.

The reason I am so very dissatisfied is this is a serious flaw, easily verified by any QA process more sophisticated than a retarded monkey at a keyboard. Why is it that ULeat can't publish an update to fix this problem or at the very least publish a solution / workaround as was done for VS? Or respond timely to their customer's support questions?

I will I NOT pay money for a ULead product based on this lack of support. The next time I upgrade my DVD burner you can bet I'll avoid those that bundle ULead with the drive!

Check the update packs in http://www.ulead.com/tech/dmf/dmf.htm and see if they fix the problem. Ulead just released another update pack for DVDMF4 (v4.03).

Hope this helps.

I'm afraid it hasn't. I've had this problem since I installed the 3 SE version that came bundled with my new Hauppage DVR a few days ago. Exact same error messages on three or four separate attempts:

Failed to reuse converted cache file! (4570)

Unspecified error
Report ID: 0x800411da(4570)
[14252:1:0]

I was using Imation DVD+R 8x disks and an Imation DVD+RW 4x.

After sequentially installing all the updates (except for the part I and II most recent one, which evidently isn't compatiable with my SE version) -- same thing.

This is very frustrating because I have to produce this DVD ASAP. I initially submitted my problem to online tech support yesterday afternoon, but no response there yet.

Should I just dump this product and start from scratch with something else? Can someone recommend a stable alternative? Am I baiting Ulead? Ubet.

Hi HT...:)

When is Ulead going to get it's act together on their servers? This is absurd, when 2 download links are provided, and both are dead!! I would think they could afford a little better set up. There's tons of businesses on the internet and I can't think of any that choose to operate the way Ulead has been...
Please wake up the dummies in charge of the web servers...

Thanks :)

EDIT

:o Wow, that was quick H.T.
Finally got it downloaded. I had spent over 30 minutes trying to just get the download to start...

I have found that by opening a download manager like "Getright" first and then attempting the download, tht the download manager seems to lock onto the site and eventually the download will start.
