Can´t update UVS8

Any one who can tell why the updates for my UVS8 says it can´t found any UVS8 on my PC when I´m installing it. When I purchased it I downloaded the software (suppose it was the trial ver.) and a few days later paid for it and got a registration number, seems like a real full version when I´m looking in "About Video Studio" it says ver. 8.00.100 but act as a trial version when I try to update. I´m so tired of relinking after we got "winter time" again, any ideas?

Hi Sailfast,
So I'm assuming that you purchased the ESD (download) version of VS8, correct? If so how long ago was this? Ulead's purchases are handled through Element 5, and they should have sent you an email with download links. However the links expire after a few days.
What I'm driving at, is download it again..(by the way where did you come up with VS8 to purchase online? I don't believe it was from Ulead). Well to back up a bit, if it wasn't from Ulead, then forget about Element 5.
Do you have the installation program on a CD or your HDD? You might have to re-install.

A friendly tip, anytime I purchase/upgrade I never do so over a TBYB (Try Before You Buy) trial version. There can be differences in the programs. It is recommended to uninstall trial versions, then install the full version. I haven't ran into to many programs that function correctly with "just unlocking" the restrictions of a trial version. I currently only have one that will do so properly.

Thanks Ron, for your answer, my neighbor downloaded it for me because than I´only had modem myself, don´t know what version, ESD or any other I´m afraid, I told him go to Ulead´s home page, my receipt is from 2004 31 December, and says it´s from Softwrap Limited, when I payed I was never offered any other kind of software so I took for granted it should work. Living overseas (Sweden) and thought it was easy shopping without any postage. Is there any other ver. to download than the trial version?
Haven´t reinstalled yet because of so many clips, but now they are to be relinked so suppose it´s the right time to test that but is there any special version to download, have only seen the free trial ver. have spend hours on the Ulead site without solving this.

You might try contacting Softwrap Softwrap.com to see if they might be able to provide you with another download link. You might tell them that your file has become corrupt.

Generally the update patches will not work on Trial versions, and that is what it seems is happening. It still thinks you have the trial version...

Yes, it´s obvious but it´s very strange that my trial version did accept the serial number and act like a full, I´ve tried SoftWrap and they say "Unfortunately we only handle the encryption/security and purchase side of things here at Softwrap" despite I got the purchase number I think they must see in some log file that they got USD 124.95 from me, without any download, really feel like an idiot. What really makes me sad is I can´t get in contact with any one on Ulead and my interest of buying a new software from them fade away. Thanks Ron for taking your time.

Must admit I purchased UVS9 full box ver. yesterday, I´m very eager to start my new projects.
