Smartsound / Quicktime 7 Problem

I recently did a reinstall of my OS. Nothing wrong, just housekeeping. Knowing that Video Studio 9 requires Quicktime I downloaded the latest version (7), then installed my Video Studio. Everything went fine except for my Smartsound tracks. Only 15 of the 26 tracks installed. I reinstalled Smartsound again and a couple of more tracks installed, reinstalled again and gained a few more. I did this several times until I had 24 of the 26 tracks installed, but I just couldn't get the last 2. I checked the Smartsound site and downloaded a plug-in that solved a problem with Quicktime 7. Didn't work. I also searched this forum and found some answers that others had with similar problems. Didn't work.
What I finally did was uninstall Video Studio and uninstall Quicktime 7. I then reinstalled Video Studio and let it install the included Quicktime 6. Worked like a charm.
