Hi
I'm currently in the process of finishing our Cub Pack's 2005 DVD.
I've put each activities photos together on Videostudio with music and transitions and will be recording each topic to a separate video file for transfer to Moviefactory to make the DVD.
I'm struggling with setting out an introduction video. I've got the music for what I want at about 1min long and the photos I want to use. At the moment, the photos appear as a overlay at about 1 sec length just to give people an idea of what's coming up and then the title shows at the end. I've got a video background.
I would like to be able to have the pics scroll across the middle one after the other, almost as if you are running a 35mm film across with each picture next to the previous one.
I've tried pasting pictures together and using a pan. I've also tried using the entry / exit but it doesn't give the effect I'd like.
Does any one have any thoughts on if it's possible to achieve the look I want.
If not, any suggestions on a look I could use that would be something a bit different but also achieve a brief intro for the dvd.
Many thanks in advance for everyone's help.

PS I just hope the videos will actually record this time - I've cut them into 3 to 4 min sections so hopefully they won't crash the computer !
Looking for some help with an intro

secookie,
Cool idea! I think what you're wanting is a scroll in from the right to the left where the effect is that the film reel gets longer as more pictures enter the scene. Is that right? If so, use entry/exit with pictures that you've stitched together in your photo editor. However you'll notice that there is a pause in the middle, which you can get rid of. With your picture selected on the Overlay Track look at the Jog Slider just below the preview screen, you'll notice that there are Mark-in and Mark-out points - this is your pause duration. Just bring them together and Voila! you'll get a nice non-stop scroll.
Hope this helps,
Ron
P.S. I'd go ahead an add the 35mm film reel to complete the effect in your photo editor! Again very cool idea!

Many many many thanks for the advice.
It's taken me about 3 hours tonight (there are 93 photos on the display!) but I've managed to put them into 3 sets of 31 with a 35mm film reel across the top and bottom, lines to separate each picture and imported them into videostudio.
The result is amazing !! Just what I was looking for. The scroll across works really well - just in the middle of the screen taking up about 50%. The three clips even manage to line up with the zoom on maximum to create the illusion of one long clip !!
If I could find somewhere to post the video I would just to show you.
Many thanks this puts the icing on the cake for the dvd and makes it look really special.
Thanks again

You could upload a screenshot to Image Shack. It's a free photo hosting site. Just register for free. Once you upload your photos, it will provide you with the links for sharing. That's how I'm displaying my avatar..secookie wrote:rguthrie
Just a thought, I can take a screen grab - anywhere I can post a jpeg pic.
Some feedback on the actual product would be good - particularly as it was your suggestion !
Thanks again
