Beginner..question..
Okay so i just got this video camera its a samsung mini dv 353 i think. And the problem is, i hook my camera up and it says 'streaming' on it, like its supposed to but i can't figure out how to get my video off of my tape, onto the videostudio thing. It says that i have no files, when i know i recorded on it..

I note that your camera has a USB 2.0 but it also has an IEEE-1394 or Firewire ori-Link port (it will be called one of these in your manual. I suspect you have 'hooked it up' using a USB cable that came with the camera, right? If so, then you will only get streaming-quality (i.e. relatively poor webcam-type) video at best. And when 'it' says you have no files, it is probably the program looking for still image files taken with the video camera, and which are normally transferred via USB cable (as well as, in your case, streaming video).
To capture high quality digital video, you need to buy a Firewire cable as they never come with a video camera. Make sure you buy a cable that has the right size plug on each end -- normally this would be a small 4-pin plug at the camera end and a larger 6-pin plug at the computer end. Your computer will also need to have a Firewire port or card. No alternative, I am afraid...

I've just told you -- a Firewire cable and possibly also a Firewire card for your computer if it does not already have one. And since I have no idea where in the world you live, I can't comment on what might be available locally or the local prices. Here in Australia a cable would cost around US$15 and a card would cost US$25 - $30, plus any installation costs if you can't do it yourself. They are available from most computer stores.
