poor video in vs9 window in the capture mode .

my pc is 2.4 pent-4 with 1024 ram and nvida 6800 128 mb video card running xp . im using a sony dcr hc21 camera through usb cable and here is the problem i'm having . when i have vs9 running and start the camrea and put it in the edit mode then playback the camera i hit the capture button , the video plays but it is very poor in the software window but it looks fine on the camera . does anyone know what could cause this .
