Sorry Firdaz, the best (or only available) advice on this error is already written in the posts before yours, I think.

firdaz wrote:Hi all,

I'm using Ulead DVD Workshop 2.2
When i try to open the project that i'm working on the program simply
give me the error message:

Image

The file that it says is missing here is:

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp\ed7cbc19-

which doesnt exist anymore since I saved the project, and reeboted...
not very nice at all...

I know that i didn't move or delete any file from the folder where the
program works or from the temporary folder so, can anyone give me a reason to what's happening ???
Same problem for me too.
Probably means that the program didn't close well last time. I found the missing file with a recovery program, I placed this in the temporary directory (the path from message) and when I tried to open Workshop, the message is changed to:

"Some files can't be found will cause project can't be opened

Unable to load string."

Now has been deleted again the inizial missing file from temp directory!
Is there any solution for this bug?
Is there any way to open the project, even if the project isn't complete?

The missing file in the temporary directory was an image 60Kb (if it helps).
I tried to open it for viewing, and it was "black".

I guess, the missing file can't be restored anymore, coz.....
the missing file was never exist in the temporary folder.

This is what I have done. I have tried to make new DWS project, and before I close the progam, I copy and write down the name of every single file contains in temporary folder as long as I run and edit the project and just before I exit the program. Then I closed the program and restart my PC.
I open the DWS file and...... the project trying to load a file that is never exist in the temporary folder.........

I hope Ulead experts know and fix this problem immediately...

When I restored the temp directory with an apposite software, I see into some other files similar (to that from the message). With wordpad I opened the "dws" project file and I discovered into, the names of that files.

Conclusion: In mine case some files are been writing to the temp directory. Some others are been deleted (when I closed the program), others non.
The inizial message also, is changed (when I placed the asking file in the temp directory and I reopened the Workshop):

"Some files can't be found will cause project can't be opened

Unable to load string."

And the missing file that I placed in the temp directory, is deleted again immediately after is appeared the new message.

I have tested again and again (Once without the file in temp and I received the first message like yours, once with the file placed in temp and I received the above message, ecc)

Sorry for my english.

Same Problem

Post by dvdmaker »

Hey all,

Same problem here, try to open new project, "Some files can't be found will cause project can't be opened." The problem is that the file Ulead can't find still exists in the directory. (It was a .upx file in the menu folder, would deleting some media that made up the menu have affected this?) I may have done that or at least moved the media. Is there any way to find out which media was used in this particular menu so I can try to restore it?

I see lots of potential solutions up here, but none that seem to have worked. Am I going to have to recreate this project from scratch? I was so closed to done too...

Any help is appreciated, Thanks.
