Corrupted project - any way to salvage anything?

Post by DarrenD »

Some time ago I created a menu system that I was going to use for my home DVDs. Now that I come to use it I am getting DVDWS crashes. I assume that I have to start from scratch again.

I had buttons at specific locations and angles, specific frames around them, text styles etc. that I have to recreate. Is there any way of retrieving any of that information from the .dws file or .upx files?

My main menu had a non-selectable button associated with a .MPG file acting as a logo in the top right hand corner. It had a large motion button with "film" frame around it onto which I had dropped a playlist of my 4 titles. It had 2 menus that took you off to a text menu "scene selection" and to a motion menu list of "funnies". It also had an animated GIF "loudspeaker" that took you off to a title that had the full audio track (the main menu is a 15 second motion menu so you only ever get 15 seconds of the audio track). My problem was that when playing the menu the "loudspeaker" disappeared until I cursored over it. My text menu also had disappearing items.

Is this usually fatal or can I recover without having to create my setup again?

Thanks
