Disc template manager in VS8

Post by tonyjer »

Hi Everyone

I have inadvertently deleted one of the saved templates (SVCD-low quality).

Is this a fatal error?

Presumably I can still convert files to SVCD prior to burning?

Thanks

If you know the properties, you could always use the Custom menu item under Make Movie Manager to build a new one.

Hi Antonio y Anna

These are the settings I see from ‘Tools’—Make Movie Manager’

MPEG files
24 Bits, 480 x 576, 25 fps
Lower Field First
(SVCD-PAL), 4:3
Video data rate: Variable (Max. 2375 kbps)
Audio data rate: 224 kbps
MPEG audio layer 2, 44.1 KHz, Stereo

These are the default settings I see from the burner window.
‘options cogwheel’-------‘Change Mpeg settings’-------‘Low Quality’.

MPEG files
24 Bits, 480 x 576, 25 fps
(SVCD-PAL)
Video data rate: 2000 kbps
Audio data rate: 224 kbps
MPEG audio layer 2, 44.1 KHz, Stereo

What I don’t understand is why the bit rate has changed from Variable to Constant when these are VS default settings. I would use the latter with constant bit rate for 40 minutes per CD.
