Unspecified error 80041464

Post by xikilin »

Hi!

I work with Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 for video editing and Ulead DVD Workshop 2 for DVD authoring.
After finding the solution for a problem of GOPs (dvd playback and chapter navigation not working well), when I'm finishing the job on ws2, when it reaches 90-95% of the burning process it shows me an error window with the following:

Unspecified error
Error code: 80041464
<OK button>

Well... at least the disc image file (.ISO) I said to create works fine, burning with nero goes all ok it plays back fine too! I just don't understant why this message.

The dvd content is:
(PAL)
motion menu + still submenu
4 movies, aprox. 20min each
files in mpeg2 pre-encoded on with adobe media encoder (adobe premiere pro 1.)
MPG-L2 Audio 320

Now: before I find the solution (just one in many tries :p) for GOPs problem, the ws2 burn dvd's ok, only the problem that playing it on a dvd player was not good. The solution I fownded was to change some GOP settings in adobe media encoder (M Frames: 3; N Frames: 15; Closed GOP every: 1). I don't know the meaning of these settings, but at least it solves me the problem of playing back and chapter changing.

Note: I've found that my problem was with GOPs (I don't know what they are :p) when I've tryed another software to test (DVDLab Pro). When importing the mpeg2 files, it gives me an advise blablabla regarding to GOPs. I think exporting the files into .AVI from Adobe Premiere and letting WS2 encoding the files will solve my problem, but it takes to much time (almost 80 different dvd's i have to make!!!)... and exporting into mpeg2 with all the correct bitrate settings will make the ws2 only to process/convert the menu on video.

Someone can help me with this?
Anyway i'm going to burn the dvd's with nero, only a little more waste of time... :p

Another thing: I'me using that values for GOP settings. Does anyone knows some about that? showld them be different values?

Many questions and a real mish-mash of different makes of stuff.

I suggest that you try frameserving from the Adobe timeline directly to the WS2 encoder and let the latter do the whole job of authoring. Don't try and be clever, to start with, by playing around with the Advanced settings in the encoder. As you are time-strapped, use the standard 6000 kbit/s CBR for video and AC-3 2.0 192 kbit/s for the audio, to start with, to see how you get on.

I'm not familiar with Premier, so I don't know whether it can frameserve to WS2; if it can't, try rendering to AVI just once and see how that works.

thank you for your reply.

my post was a "little big" because I wanted to put the maximum information, so you or others posters could directly answer, without puting other questions.

however, for now I just gonna burn the disc image (wich is successefull created by ws2) with nero. latter i'll check better these issues.

other motive to my post was to see if found some user with same problem...

well... thank you again!

... and any others users can reply, giving some ideas and tricks! 8)

I too am getting the unspecified error code 80041464

It doesn't happen every time, but probably around half the time. It started when I installed a trial version of PhotoImpact. Once I removed the trial version the error stopped. I purchased the full version of PhotoImpact, installed, and now I am getting the unspecified error code in DVDWS2 again.

i don't know...

the error showed me up the first time when I've changed some values of mpeg2 encoding/exporting under premiere. but the error only occurs at the burning dvd process. before burning, i've chosed to create a disc image (.iso file). Then tryed to burn on nero and it burns ok, so the error occurs only on burning the disc in WS2.

trying to solve, i've changed some mpeg2 encoding/exporting on adobe premiere, changing the 'close GOPs every' from 0 to 1. Now it gives me the error 8004145d, but only (too) when burning the disk. All OK when burning the image with nero... :!: :?:

I've defraged the hdd, seeing if it solves the problem, but didn't tryed... I only create the disc image (.iso) and burn it with nero!

also... the problem of movie returning to the menu when it reaches almost the end of the movie is solved when burning the image with nero, but not when burning with WS2 (on those times it doesn't show the error  ).

Anyone figured this one out yet? I just started getting this error message recently and cannot figure out why. Have 3 DVD burners and all result in same error code.

I am also getting the error just as it starts to burn. I can burn other DVDs using other software, so I know there is no problem with my DVD burner.

Some direction or help would be appreciated.

I also uninstalled and re-installed my software which did not help!

Thanks

Tony
