Computer freezes during preview

Hi. Can anyone tell me why all of a sudden when i am previewing a movie my computer freezes up? It was working fine til today and everytime i go to preview i would get videostudio has a problem and needs to close. This went on all afternoon. I have a 2 ghz Dell computer with service pack 2 and 768 mb ram. Also have a 120 hard drive. I can watch parts of it, but if i start from the beginning it freezes. Also can you tell me why i need to make a video file and how that works burning from the video file? If i make changes to the movie, will it also update the video file automatically? Sorry i have so many questions, am still learning the program. Thanks so much for your help.

I don't think you will be able to get much help, unless we do have a clairvoyant in our midst, until you give us some more info. So far we only know that you have a Dell with SP2 (of what?) that freezes in VS (version?) and has 120 (MB, GB?) Hard disk??

Not much to go by, is it?
