frame by frame using the arrow keys

Post by DiscCoasterPro »

Hi all. I'm experimenting with VS9 a little an I'm curious, besides clicking over and over on the arrow in the monitor window for next frame, is there a keystroke combination that allows the arrow keys or some other key to go frame by frame? When I try it seems to want to go clip by clip instead.

I see it works in the multi trim window.

thanks,
dcp

Hi DCP....:)

You have to press the Tab key to highlight the little blue arrow in the center of the Jog Slider. The arrow will flash when it has focus. Then use your arrow keys to go frame by frame...

If you press Tab twice (2) it highlights the trim handles...

Glad I could help...I got that one from Charlie Hill's Book...
If I had the $$$ I'd get MSP8 or one that is less expensive. If I could take some of the features/abilities in VS9 and mix with Vegas Movie Studio 6, or vice versa I think I'd be satisfied...

You can also use the keyboard arrow keys by first mouse clicking on the timecode at the bottom right corner of the preview window, - if you click on the frame counter so that it starts flashing then using the UP and DOWN arrow keys will advance and retard one frame - if you click on the seconds counter then the UP and DOWN arrows will advance or retard one second - similar for the minutes and hour counter.
