Please help solving creatrion (burning process)

using version 4.0 I have the folowing problem.

Neither burning as svcd nore dvd will work if i am using a elaborated slide show using one of the preinstalled themes (the fantasy one as default for example). (= including music, pan & zoom, etc.. = standard settings for this theme).
going to the burning stage in svcd or dvd, the program stops after a 5 to 7 % creation = that is before burning as i tried to generate a viseo file without burning. (either freezs the pc completely = hard reboot, or just closes the program)

When i do NOT APPLY a theme, = no music, no transtions, no pan& zoom etc.. = it works both as svcd and dvd up to final stage = all ok.

This is used on a pentium 4 fast pc,512 ram large hd etc..., xp home serv p 2
I did uninstall and reinstall the program

Now, the tricky bit
When I run the program on a slower (older) notebook, but same xp version, 256 ram,(no dvd writer), I can create a video file (dvd quality).
I then can copy the video file to my power pc with dvd burner and using Nero as software i can burn a dvd slide show.

This is ofcourse a working solution but I really want to understand what is conflicting on my badis pc and how can i solve the problem so that I can create slide with a standard procedure
