Search the forum for "sync" and you'll find lots of discusion and several suggestions. This is a common problem which has more than one cause / solution. If you don't find a solution in the Movie Factory forum, try the other forums too... It's not just a Movie Factory problem. (In my case, it was caused by corrupted MPEGs and the solution was to get a special purpose MPEG editor).

Some more information would be helpful too...
What is the file format?
Are these from a DV camcorder or from an analog capture?
Does the sync problem show-up right-away, or only when rendered / or re-multiplexed to the DVD format?

audio/video sync

Problem occurs during "direct to disk" of analog capture.

How are you connecting to the computer? Firewire is the only way these days - onboard TV cards are very problematic. The best way is to connect your analogue device to an analogue to DV converter, such as a digital movie camera or a Canopus device.

I just spent a pile of money on Studio 8.0, but then when I tried to make a ~2hr video tape into a DVD, I found the audio was 1-3 seconds off by the end of the movie. I spent days trying to find the fix to this on the internet. After making sure I was capturing the avi as a 48kh DV-1 file, ..., trying Studio 8 (e.g. DVD Factory), DVD workshop (I have version 1 without Dolby), ... I was extremely frustrated. The avi file played fine with no sound sync problems, but the DVD file was always out of sync. Finally, I found a bunch of internet articles blaming it all on ULead. Sure enough, when I used Sonic MyDVD with the avi file, the sound was fine. (The picture was a bit pixilated and no Dolby, of course.)

I'm really ticked off at ULead. I think they're (you're) in a state of denial. I can assure you, if you don't get this fixed my next purchase will be Adobe and I'll never come back to ULead. I'll also be happy to share my experience with all comers.

I suggest a patch, quick!

I liked the idea of using the USB port with ULead versus the "hub" connection to the capture card in the computer that Sonic Mydvd uses. After reading about sync problems, it looks like ULead has a major problem.

Video/Audio Sync

I found that audio and video weren't exactly synced in MovieFactory 3.5 Disc Creator but not in DVD Workshop all my movie (MPEG with Dolby Digital 2) are brought in and the final DVD is perfectly synched. I use TMPGEnc MPEG Editor to make the MPEG's DVD compliant but ULEAD is not to blame for sync problems in DVD Workshop. I don't know about DMF 4 DC, I can only praise Ulead on DWS 2.0
