No sound from my Fuji F410 camera

Post by point »

Hi there...I have UVS 9 and I have one issue....I managed to get my photo camera to work via USB so I can record vids of me performing directly to my comp....But the problem is that there's no sound!? Can UVS9 capture also sound from USB Digital Photo Camera as the photo camera has the microphone and the ability to record sound with movies? My camera is Fuji F410...

Any help would be appriciated....Thanx...

Hi point,
I see your Fuji camera can capture movie clips with and without sound. Sorry if this sounds  silly, but do you have your camera set in the mode to capture audio? Fuji indicates that your F410 captures movie clips in an .avi motion jpeg format. I believe (and I'm sure if I'm not the forum's VS mavens will expand) because the motion .jpeg is in an .avi wrapper, VS should be able to handle it.

Check out your camera's settings and post back.

Hi erock...

Well I use camera just as normal USB camera..I only have 2 modes in my camera...USB camera and "normal" mode....so I just set it to USB mode and basicly the capturing is done by UVS 9...Yes my camera can record movies with sound but only up to 2 minutes that's why I want to use UVS to record more continuous videos..I hope I made this clear with my bad english :)

As I see it when Camera is on USB then UVS just uses it as an "eye" to capture video...and as my camera has mic on it I don't know if UVS is able to record the sound as well from the USB...or just "see" the picture but the sound should be recorded with "legal" microphone connected to mic port...

Let me know if I can give you some more info...this is one matter I need to solve because for now I just record the videos directly with camera (to have sound on it as well) and then just download vid from camera and put it in UVS9 as normal video file which is c**p (not good)....

Sorry point, I misunderstood. You're talking about using the camera as a PC-cam. I would say check the camera's manual to see what Fuji says. There might be something with how you have your PCs sound card setup too. I don't have much experience with that so hopefully a few of the more versed members will chime in.

Good luck

Thanx anyway erock....

I connected the mic to mic port so at least I can have sound now but that's a temporary solution...I think I'll try some other video editors before buying anything and before my UVS9 trial expires....
