Doesn't locate my Cannon

I am using the free trial of VS9. I have the VS6 and my camera (Canon VS50 using ATI Rage Video card) has always showed up no problem on the list of input devices. I am trying out this version 9 and it is not showing my camera. I have the remote plugs for the ATI. I have no fire wire on the camera. Does the full version make a difference? Any suggestions? Wes
