I have a Sony HDR-HC1, and I can't get my program to capture the video from the camera. Nothing comes up in the source window. I get a message saying that either there is no device hooked to the computer or it is not turned on. I am using Texas Instruments 1394 cable to connect to computer.
I am using XP and when I look at the device manager it shows my Sony in the Sounds, Video etc. But I can't make it work.

Is your camera in the play back mode? Which capture plug-in are you using?

Yes, I have it in playback mode. I don't know what plug-in I'm using, I don't understand plug-ins too well.
