I am editing a "pageant", and the MC talks longer than the girls stand there....how can I pause the clip, or can I slow the end of it down without effecting the audio, or am i best off to make a still and insert it? Any ideas? Thanks in advance...

You can insert a/some stills or what i have done is split the audio by right clicking the clip then selecting the split audio option you can then play with the plyback speed of the video only or use the scissors to cut a bit off the end of the video and slow the end down which look quite good depending how much long the mc talks for

I had a similar problem, but did not want to separate the audio from the video, because I was not sure I was going to be able to line it up like I wanted, I ended up capturing the last frame I wanted to use as a JPG and then placed it in the overlay track at the point I captured it until I wanted it to drop off. The only thing I did not like was not being able to transition out of that frame. But all in all the video turned out fine. Depending on how long you want to work on this project, you could do some work on the jpg captures and create short clips with them and use the chroma key on the overlay track to create the right transition effects. It was a lot of work that I just did not have time to do.
Have fun.
