this apparently has to do with the Easy CD creator software that is "packet writing" and running in the background. true when i uninstall it... videostudio burns DVD's fine.... dilema...how can i run the 2.... has anyone else had this problem.... how did you get round it????

Though I don't have the program, I understand that the relevant module of Easy CD Creator can be disabled without actually removing it. I imagine you will have an icon in the system tray and if you right click, then normally you would be presented with an option to disable/enable. If not, then someone, like THoff, may have a more accurate suggestion.

The Nero InCD module also causes conflicts, but cannot be internally disabled and thus has to be totally uninstalled (though NOT the rest of the Nero suite).

Ken is right on the money -- Drag-To-Disc (Roxio's DLA/Packet Writing utility) has an Exit option on the context menu that appears when you right-click on its icon in the System Tray.

I have Roxio's Easy Media Creator V7, and as long as you shut it down prior to starting the burning process, there's no problem. If you forget to shut it down first, no problem: just shut it down after you close the UVS error dialog, then hit "Burn" again.
