Can I browse to ver7 CD on Upgrade, or MUST it be INSTALLED

Post by MikeT »

I just reformatted my C:, and don't want to install ver7 before installing ver9. Can I browse to the CD or MUST IT BE INSTALLED?

Thanks,

When you run the installer for the later upgrade version of UVS, it will complain that it cannot find the earlier version. At this point, insert the original CD of the earlier version, and the installer will proceed.

Hi,

You shouldn't have to install it, just have it in the CD drive. As long as VS9 and see (I think) the Setup.exe file it should install...

Ok guys, how are you synchornizing your posting.....:)

Sadly, Ver7CD from ADS Instant DVD NOT recognized as valid

Post by MikeT »

Sadly, it says the the Ulead VS7SE which came with my ADS capture box does not qualify for the upgrade.

My work-a-round, which I am not particularly happy with was to install VS7, then install the upgrade.

I was hoping to to put all that junk on my newly formatted c:

Oh well,
Mike

I guess if the version you have does not qualify you for the upgrade, it won't either after you install. Is there other stuff on the CD, being an SE version there might be. Drill down to the folder where the setup.exe for VS 7 SE is on your CD, that should get you going.

Thanks!

Thanks 4 the reply. The VS9 upgrade did work if the 7 was installed, but couldn't just browse to the cd like other folk,

oh well,
I'm up & running,
Mike
