Drice Not Ready

I just installed VS8 and I am having problems when it starts to write to the drive. The error I get is "Drive Not Ready" error code 93006:1:0. I have installed the DVD burning engine updates but this did not fix the problem. I tried to install the 8.01 patch but it indicates that it can't find VS8 installed. I have a Sony DRU 500A burner. Has anyone had this problem and found a fix for it?

Are you referring to the installation process going wrong, or the file or DVD process not working?

You might try removing VS8 and reinstalling, for either of the above. It took me two installs to get it properly in.

The program installs and runs just fine. It is only when I go to burn a disc does it give me problems. After it compresses the movie when it starts to actually write to the DVD does it then fail with the "Drive Not Ready" message. I have found that if I output a disc image, then go back and use the Disc Image burner application that comes with VS8 it works fine. The down side to this is that it adds another step to the process and takes more time.
