VS 9 crashing when I add sound???

I am hoping you folks can give me some insight. I am having trouble with sound in VS 9 . I have searched the archives, but not been able to see anything quite like I am having.

The problem: Everytim I try to play sound, any sound, a clip from the libraby, or if sound is attached outside the sound embedded in the video clip, VS 9 crashes. If I take out the sound clips, everything works fine, will generate the mpeg and all..... but when the sound clip is in the music line, it will not even play the project.

Any help would be appreciated...

I got more info now.... i click on more info, and i get this...

Been working on this for 2 days.... Now I have found that if i import from a CD it works.....but they are wav files...I guess I am only having prob with mp3....anyone have any ideas now?

never mind, i figured it out..... once i decided it was mp3 and not sound in general
