Hello Viking, thank you for the reply...
I have many applications installed that use PS filters( PSP, PS Elements, PhotoBrush, and several others) and I had the Ulead filters installed and working on a previous hd. These filters come in a package that is self installing. I just installed them on my laptop and they worked fine. When clicking on the exe files, a screen comes up showing a package being unzip, then a splash screen with the name of the filter and the installer. Every thing works fine.
When I click on the exe in my regular computer, the package opens briefly, but the splash screen and the installer never open up. When I press Ctrl-Alt-Delete, under the Processes tab, the exes show up.
So, the computer is trying to open the installers, but they fail. It happens with all three Ulead filters, and even when trying to install Photoshop 7, which I had not installed this time around. (I just got a new hd). The only thing I can think of is that one of the programs has appropiated some files and are not allowing the filters or even PS 7 to install. But I don't know how to re-register the dlls, or even which ones to register.
Hope all this makes sense. Don't know how else to explain it. Thanks for your interest in helping anyhow.
