Issues burning VCD with trial version DVD PictureShow 2

Post by jvogle »

I wanted to make sure that the software would work so I downloaded it for a try before buy.

I am running a Dell Dimension 4100 (about 3 yrs old) with Windows 2000 Professional as the operating system with all the patches.

My Cd writer is SONYCD-RW CRX160E SCSI CD ROM

I checked through the administrative tools that there are no issues with the driver or with the device itself.

Everything goes fine -- I can view the slideshow -- it plays the music etc.

When I go to burn the show onto CD -- I chose VCD output this is what I get:

FAILED TO RECORD DATA TO DISK:

CODE SAO-2336-SPTI-2A-00-0000057 the parameter is incorrect.

I am caught here -- cannot ask for "technical support" until you buy the product but I do not want to buy it unless I know it will work with my hardware and software. It should but perhaps the product doesn't support my burner.

PLEASE TAKE PITY ON ME -- AND IF YOU ARE A REGISTERED USER COULD YOU TRY AND FIND OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM MIGHT BE!

I REALLY LIKE THE PRODUCT AND WANT TO BUY IT IF IT WILL WORK!

Thanks.

Sorry but:-
Technical support is a con @£.60/minute.
I recently bought the Version 3 which does not work!
I have reverted to version 2, and have to close all application to do this!
In the light of all the posts, I surprised that you want to waste time!

Thank you so much for your reply.

Am I out of luck -- I have a Sony CD-RW-CRX160E -- do you think they might add new drivers or will I have to go elsewhere?

By any chance are you the Forum monitor and work for the company?

If not could you ask them if they intend to support this model in the near future?

Thanks so again so much for responding to me.

I looked up the technical FAQs and found one that might be similar to your problem:

Q:When I do a burning, an error message "SAO-2336-SPTI-2A-02-03-0C-00" is shown during the process, what can I do to get rid of it?

A:
1.Unzip this "ULcdrSetup.zip" to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ulead Systems\DVD directory.

2. Launch the ULcdrSetup.exe and check "Use-Track-At-Once CD writing mode for VCD or SVCD".

3.Close the exe file.

4.Burn the video again.

This problem is caused by some burners being incompatible with session-at-once (SAO) recording. "Track-At-Once" is the most reliable way to burn a CD per past experience, and some burner's firmware just cannot use Session-At-once in a reliable way. The disadvantage of "Track-At-Once" is the linking loss sectors in the track gap area, which may affect the playback compatibility for some VCD players (although very few).

You can check the technical FAQs from Ulead's web site:
