I have 2 challenges that I would really appreciate some help with.
1. My crossfade transitions between pictures &/or movie clips are flickering. When previewed in the editor, it does it correctly but after making the mpg is where the flickering shows up. The pictures are not flickering, which is great.
2. When I use the moving path & use the x to rotate a small amount (like 1-5) upon render the picture does not hold as I had originally wanted it to & it ends up with a bunch of black on one side or the other.
I have rendered at Variable 8000 (33 min.)
This has never done this before & short of deleting all the crossfades or changing them out, I am out of ideas.
Thanks so much for any assistance.

You also failed to add the format you are using for the original files and the settings for the rendered mpgs. I'm not clairvoyant.
1. Is it possible that your crossfades are across two files with different field orders? How are you viewing the mpgs? What does your DVD looklike on a TV?
2. Just think: if you put 2 identical pieces of paper on top of one another and you rotate the top one a few degrees. Is the bottom one still 100% covered? Of course not. So why should a rotated clip still fill the frame? It can't, unless you zoom in and lose the corners of your image (or more). If the angular correction is small, the black corners will be in the overscan area and won't be seen on a TV. If not, you will have to zoom in to fill the frame.

Devil,
Thanks for the slap on the hand.....I should know better than to not give enough info.
Fortunately, I knew it would be a click of some button or a mistake in some setting that I had made & sure enough, it was my fault.
As I created the video file, I failed to change from mpg2 (I guess a default) to what it should be as DVD NTSC, so that being done, corrected both of my challenges.
Just to somewhat clarify, I always cover the screen with the pic showing no black on any side, the wrong setting, as mentioned above, was causing the pic to show only on 1/2 of the screen.
Sorry to have taken your time, I know the value of that & in the future I will be more thorough on my end before I post.
Thanks again.

Re: Moving path and transitions
Out of interest... does this occur throughout the rendered picture or just at the start.lazydayz wrote:

My current project is with 120 still images, all JPG's from my digital camera (That's the only format the camera allows though it is 5 megapixel)
I am taking my time and pushing the boat out creating a slide show to put MSP8 through its paces.
The most recent experiment I made was to use 8 pictures each of 7 seconds duration all in line on 8 video tracks. I am also experimenting by using the 16.9 layout. Pictures are frame based and I have turned anti-flicker on (each picture)
I then used a self made picture in picture effect with 8 boxes on the screen, one for each row. I added some picture movement with pan and zoom on each individual picture.
I then rendered this as an AVI - frame based.
Upon rendering the very first frame is squashed towards the left half of the screen almost resembling a 4.3 but well off centre. It only affects the very first frame, all the rest come out as desired. No problem because after rendering I just chop the first frame away.
I was just wondering how this fits in with the problem you mentioned above.
