A/V Loss Of Sync Question

Post by Gary-STFC »

Hi all. Been having some problems when capturing recently from a Sony DCR HC22E using Video Studio 8 (still can't capture with 9??). Anyway, captures in ok with a/v in sync at 24bit, 720x576. PCM, 32.000 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo into AVI format.

When I then put that into a project with the same properties, I've found the audio to be out of sync.

One thing I did find, as I re-use a lot of my mini-DV tapes, is that by spiltting the audio, I found it did not match the video length and a simple adjustment and I was away again.

With a more recent clip though, I've found the two do match and up to about half way through the clip, ARE in sync, but it slips between the midway point and the end by about 1.5 seconds. I tried the above, in the hope the same solution would work, but to no avail.

Has anyone else experienced this and if so, how did you solve it?[/b]

I think it's the 32 KHz, 12 or 16? bit sound recorded with your DV cam. can you set up for 48 KHz for future recordings?

You may have to use the work around you mentioned for the time being.

Hi Gary

What method are you using to capture your footage.

From a digital camcorder, the best is from DV-out via Firewire.

Then selecting DV as the capture Format.

The format should remain as DV and not revert to AVI.

So how are you capturing your video?
