VS7 & VS9 both crash when I use a DLink DUB-AV300 USB ca
I have tried both Video Studio 7 and Video Studio 9 with my DLink DUB-AV300 capture device and both versions crash and close whenever I plug the device in. If I plug the device in before opening the program, then the program crashes when I click on the Capture tab. I have updated to the latest driver for the DLink DUB-AV300. Does anyone have any ideas to help?

Hi BruceE
First I don't have a diffenitive anwer, however I did google on your Dlink, and read through the manual, specs and quick guides.
Did you just purchase / install the Dlink, or have you been using it for sometime?
Your Dlink came bundled with WinDVD 2, have you tried using that program? If so did it work or fail? If you can capture with WinDVD, then I think it would be a Ulead issue, if not we need to look at your system, hardware configurations...
Did you check out the Device Manger to see if it is showing a problem?

DLink DUB-AV300
I have used it with the bundled s/w and it works well. The only problem it has is that it won't record a few of of my home videos because it thinks that they are right protected. When capturing the same video with other devices via ULead I haven't had the right protection problem. I want to use the DUB-AV300 because it produces a better result than the other capture devices I have used.

Ok, are you capturing from VCR, or a camcorder? If camcorder what brand of camcorder, and is it just anologe, or digital? Does your camcorder record to tape, DVD disc?
If your Dlink works with WinDVD, (to some extent) maybe there's something with it or other editing apps that is conflicting with UVS for capture control?
Hopefully some of the pros, more experienced members will jump in soon!!! I'm starting to draw blanks as to why VS is being anal on this...
