irishcolleen,

i don't understand your problem.

You write about DVD but i think you mean a simple CD.

A DVD can hold up to 4300 MB (4.3 GB) and a CD (depending of the type 700 to 900 MB)

Your video is only 702 MB. Use a 800 MB CD or a normal DVD

irishcolleen,

in my opinion the 702 MB are not the real problem and the lenght should fit, too with 6000 kbit/s for about 90 minutes on a DVD.

I see a problem in your format which is not DVD compatible.

640x288 looks more for a reduced NTSC format, but you have a frame rate of 25 fps.

I don't know what DMF will do with such a file coded in Divx 3 in a "Wrong" format size as well as i don't know what your stand alone will do with such a DVD.

Why you don't use VCD on a 800 MB CD or shorten the fil for 2 MB to fit it on a 700 MB VCD ?

What type of disc?

Post by GeorgeW »

What type of disc are you trying to make, a DVD so if you put the disc into a DVD Player, it will play like a regular DVD? Or are you trying to just burn a video to disc without any menus or chapters? It probably won't play in alot of DVD Players (unless you have one of those DVD Players that play DivX videos).

If you want to make a disc that works like a retail DVD, then you will have to re-encode the video to a standard format -- either mpeg-1 or mpeg-2, using appropriate resolutions and bitrates based on the type of disc you plan to make...
