Problem with mini dvd from camcorder

Post by Trisha »

I am working with the ULEAD moviefactory 3.5 editing software. I have a home movie that I have successfully downloaded all but one of the sections to the computer. The computer shows that the section that I am trying to get to download either is currupt or write protected. The disk plays fine, the section that I need is not at the end of the dvd either. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Try copying the VOB files onto your hard drive and then rename the VOB extension to MPG.

Now try working with these "MPG" files.

Won't there be serious repercussions if you do that? Well, I do that sometimes, but I wonder if there are any side-effects if you do that, like the video getting corrupted or something...

You are not changing the original DVD disk in any way
