VCDs to VCD/DVD

Post by andrealing »

Hi!

I would like to ask whether Ulead VideoStudio 9 can do the following :
1) Extract from home movies from several VCDs;
2) Edit the movies (add text, cut portions of it, add effects);
3) Combine the edited movies and burn them to new VCDs/DVD.

I've bought the VideoStudio 9 yesterday after a salesman suggested that the input includes the VCD format (.dat), but I've yet figured out where to do the extraction. :roll:

Anyone can help? Thanks in advance.

Yes VS9 can...
  • To Extract from VCD's click on the folder icon located at the bottom left of the Storyboard, Select Import Video
  • In the dialoge box that opens up, browse to the drive your VCD is in, click on it.
  • You will see several folders, one should be MPEGAV. This folder should have your *.dat file.
  • Select that file and VS will add it to the timeline.
Now you can edit the clip, adding text, cutting it up, adding effects, etc..
You can then render your new project, and then finally burn it to disc. However you must know that a VCD is not DVD compliant, so the quality is less then what DVD quality is.

For more information Please read and follow the Sticky post located at the top of the Video Studio Forum Found Here. It can save you a lot of problems....

Hope that helps you :)
