Adjusting Z-Index of Images and Clips

Post by Shochu »

Is it possible to adjust the z-index of images that you insert into the overlay track? Right now all the text in the title track always appears on top and in some cases I don't want it to.

Also, it seems as though you can add additional tracks with this software? (Seems to be the case from what I read on the forums but just wanted to double check).

Thank you for any help!

AFAIK yes you can adjust the Z index on titles.

Double click on the preview screen, add your title. You will have to use multiple titles not single title. Add your titles.
Right-click on a title and you will get a pop up menu, giving you the options to Bring to Front, Bring Forward, Send Backward or Send to Back

For your second question, No there is no provision to add additional tracks in VS9. The prosumer Media Studio Pro 8 has unlimited tracks...

Hope that helps :)

hmm ... that only seems to allow you to adjust the z-index of titles in relation to other titles. Unfortuately you can't change the title's z-index in relation to the overlay track (i.e., still images you might insert into the timeline).

Thanks for your help though. I guess I'll have to try something with a few more features.

MSPro 8 has the ability to not only do multi-layered titles but multiple timelines with 99 layered video tracks each. The "extra" timelines can also be used as virtual clip overlays in the main timeline.

Needless to say the possibilities are mind boggling. My record so far for a single project is 51 timelines with 15 overlay tracks in the main timeline, and yes it was necessary.

I must be missing something - why would you want to put your titles behind the video - you won't be able to see them ??????
