MSP8 & AVI "No combination of intermediate filters&

Post by Joe Linn »

I am trying to import an AVI file that is captured from a DV camera into a MSP8 project. When I go into "import video files", click on the file and click the play button in the import preview window, I get the message "No combination of intermediate filters could be found to make the connection."

I saw a post from someone who was getting the same message from MSP7 trial version. One difference is that they were able to view the file in the preview window. I am unable to get that far. The response was that they could be missing a codec.

If I am missing a codec, does that mean MSP8 is not configured to find it, or that it isn't installed on my machine? I am able to view the same files in Windows Media Player and edit them with Pinnacle Studio 10 so that makes me think Windows has the necessary codecs.

One additional complication is that I recently replaced my boot drive. I copied the old drive to the new one. Just in case there was a problem with the upgrade, I uninstalled and reinstalled MSP8, but I still get the same result.

Should I be able to open DV AVI files with MSP8? If so, what should I check for the problem? I looked for a place to specify codecs within MSP8 but couldn't find one.

Thanks!

Thanks. I reloaded DirectX 9.0c and rebooted my machine. I tried opening an AVI file and got the same result.

Is there anything else I could try? Are there any settings with MSP8 that I should be checking?

Thanks!
