Why are they different shades/colors?

Post by edsager »

Hello All,

I have a logo consisting of three triangles (and other parts too, but the triangles are the focus). In order to create them, I started with no animation and simply created the colors, texture, bevels, etc. Then I sent the pieces of the logo off the screen so I can have them do a tumbling routine and end up where I created them in frame 1. I did the math and input changes about every 4 frames (up to 48 frames) for the animation.

Previously, I saved the logo so I would know what it was supposed to look like at the end of the animation.

After adding animation, the colors/shading of the triangles is changed from the original creation. I checked, double-checked, and triple-checked, and the locations, rotations, colors, textures, bevels, lights, etc. are all exactly where I had them when I first created them, but, as I said, the colors/shading of the triangles is different after adding the animation.

Any ideas as to how I can get the ending result to be the same as what I had at the beginning?

Thanks,

Could it has something to do with your video card? Try updating your VideoCard driver and even update your directX drivers to the latest.

Some of the animation effects could also have lighting and camera settings applied. Most preset bevels also have lighting settings. These, when applied after the initial creation of the components, would change the color to some degree.

Heinz is correct. There is a workaround but you will lose the reflective lighting on your model. Turn off all lights and change ambient color. For example: Default Black to White. Make sure to apply the same settings and set keys at the beginning and end. Hope this helps.

I did it!

OK, I took your statements and decided something needed changing, so I went in and tried altering the lighting, bevel, etc. and the one category which, when I changed it, I got what I wanted was the texture! Specifically, the position of the texture.
