Hi:
I'm sure it must be listed somewhere here or in the manual but I can't find it. Can someone tell me what is the optimum resolution to use on my scanner when acquiring pictures from hard copy photos to use in Pictureshow? I burn my slideshows to DVD and play back on a hi def 52" monitor.
Thanks for any advice you can offer.

dmacgowansr,
I was looking for the same information last week but didn't see any recommendations in the PS4 help file (although like yourself, I might have missed it). I ended up doing a little research on the web and discovered that many professionals (who produce slide shows for a living) often scan snapshots at 2000 - 4000 dpi (jpg output @100%). There's no question the higher the res, the better the on-screen quality, but I think most users would find this level of detail impractical. Even high-end consumer level flatbeds take way too long to scan at such high res and the resulting files are awkward to work with. Whether or not PS4 could even process image files of that size without crashing is another question all together.
So lacking any definitive answers, I'd suggest scanning at the highest resolution that seems practical based on your scanner's capabilities and your system's ability to handle the files. To my thinking, 600 - 800 dpi might strike a reasonable balance between quality and practicality. I probably wouldn't want use less than 300 dpi in any case.
I'd love to hear some feedback from other users on this topic!
