Sound lagging when burning to DVD?

Post by brucefl »

I have been transferring some Video from VCR tapes to DVD. I hadn't noticed before, doesn't seem all the time. I recorded two on one dvd, the first seems ok, 2nd the voice is behind or a little after the person is done talking? I have to go back and recheck the first one though.
I have a Pent IV 3.2 gig with 1 gig of ram, 400 gig HD. I usually don't have anything running but Video Studio 9, this can happen even on a real short video. I transferred a 15 sec QT over and it happened.

When I am doing the preliminary stuff it seems ok, till I burn it or finalize it?
thanks Bruce

This is a common problem which seems to have several different causes & solutions. Search the forum for "sync", and you'll find lots of discussion & suggestions.

When it happened to me, it was caused by corrupt MPEGs. And as in your case, the problem didn't show-up 'till the final rendering/re-multiplexing step.
